This week I went to visit my friend Yasser in New York.

I mentioned on last week’s entry how I decided the trip on a whim. “Fuck it,“ I said as checked out, declining seat selection and luggage.

I went to see him perform during the book launch of one of my favorite Dominican author’s and artist, Rita Indiana. Then I went to see him on a Broadway musical the next day. Something I've been meaning to do all year.

I’m closing the gap between what I say and what I do.

Both events were spectacular. The takeaways from the trip were simple but profound. Sacrifice, commitment and trust got them on those stages, audiences applauding.

Those virtues left me saying “bravo”.
