Three people drove from Northern Mexico to see us play in Tucson tonight.
Lately, I have been thinking a lot about art and purpose. Since covid, I have learned to treat my art practice as a partner that I don't ask much of, I just give.
But I'm human, and I still want more.
On this tour, I have seen three Frank LLoyd Wright inspired houses; two in California, one today in Arizona. Decades after his death people are still building in his likeness. That's remarkable:
Being marketable for generations.
That kind of legacy is something I selfishly expire to, beyond just creating for creation's sake. I want to inspire, I want to leave a mark.
One of the structures I saw while on a run this morning wasn't even finished. No paint yet, half hidden by bushes, some walls missing. I still recognized the homage that was being paid. I'm a fan; I'll spot it anywhere.

I spent the day fantasizing about what it must be like to make something that stands on its' own, long after I'm gone. Before we performed, I rode the rollercoaster of emotions that those thoughts can bring up.
Then I met three people who drove from Northern Mexico to see us play. That's remarkable. That's a start.
