Day 7: Taste the rainbow (Portland to Seattle)

Here's a list of things that went wrong today:
I was awoken at 5 am by loud banging coming from the floor above our shitty hotel room.
I didn't eat anything until three pm become a barista in Portland gave me a bacon and egg sandwich instead of the vegan food I ordered.
I lost my beanie.
I can't find my ear buds.
My instrument cable crapped out during our set, and I couldn't play the last song.
Later on, the cashier at an Italian restaurant in Seattle also misplaced my order.
I was hangry, sleep deprived, embarrassed.
During the previous night's after-show drive, we had been playing Limp Bizkit in the van. The subject of memorable basslines were brought up and were discussing one of their songs.
Today, when I was jolted awake by what I'm sure was bowling alley above me, I saw the news that their bass player had passed.
Dead.
Fame. Money. Stadiums. Endorsements. Admiration. Talent.
Dead.
Guess what I told myself about my trip-ups today?
Who cares.
Petty things, big things, small things, important and not. Shit happens. If they ever completely cease to go wrong, it would mean I'm gone. It's the golden rule; I didn't invent it, but I'm forced to follow it.
I'm the lucky one in this equation. Give me more mishaps.
Somewhere between losing my earbuds and my cable crapping out on stage, the sun came out in Seattle. "Look! a rainbow!" someone on the tour said. I looked up and sure enough, it flew across the sky. I was alive to see it happen.
Today is Monday and we have the day off. We need to drive thirteen hours to our next show on Tuesday. We decided we're gonna to purposely add two more hours to the drive to go see the Redwood Forrest.
We're here and able to, so we may as well see if anything can go wrong.
